Choir After High School

The experiences I had in High School Choir stayed with me through my life. There was a long stretch between H.S. and Holy Trinity in Garland where I didn’t sing at all except in the car to annoy our girls.

I joined the Choir at St. Andrews in Mckinney and sang until co-vid hit. My hearing had severely deteriorated and I became afraid I was constantly half a note flat. I always was proud of the fact I had near Perfect pitch. If you asked me to give you a B-flat, I couldn't do that. But if we were going to sing a hymn for church I could almost always hit the starting note perfectly.

The hearing aids I have had lately work up to a point, but my level of deafness is so severe that the hearing aids have to be tweaked so I can hear conversations better, but with the tweaking, I loose the high frequencies. When I listen to the praise band at church, I hear the bass, and male parts ok, but the soprano parts sound off to me.
