Dad's life after the accident

After the wreck my dad moved down to Wanda's house for a while. He bought a brand-new Plymouth 440 GTX. 

At the time that was the largest engine built for sale to the public.  My dad used to boast that if he got stopped by a police officer, he would try to make a bet with the cop. He would bet the officer, that if he could catch my dad in the GTX, my dad would pay double the original fine. According to my dad, he never lost a bet on the GTX.

During the time he lived with Wanda, he started going up to Hope Arkansas. What was in Hope, you ask? My “aunt" Aline.  She was not really related to us, but our families met while dad worked in Arkansas in the oilfield there. Aunt Aline and Uncle Earlis had a farm and raised 3 kids, I think. We had 4 kids, so there was always something going on at their farm. Earlis had died a few years before my mom did, and Aline had not re-married.  Dad started visiting Aline and they ended up getting married.  I don’t think Wanda was happy about the marriage, but I was happy that my dad had someone to talk to, and travel with.  They even took a trip up to New York to visit Joyce and me.
