Girls
I only dated 2 girls in high school. This is why I only dated two girls in High School.

First was Barbara Bennett.

Barbara lived in the house directly behind my mom and dad’s house. We would meet at the back fence and talk. Not a lot else went on, because I was scared to death of girls. I don’t know if I pushed her in that direction, but she ended up joining the marines. She was a lady marine with lots of other ladies around. I don’t know if she was gay or not, but I suspect so.
Second was Joyce Giddens.

Joyce was the one I was convinced I would end up marrying. She and I were both in Choir. I was in the “mixed" choir and she was in “girls" choir. Of course mixed was more like Varsity and girls was more like JV. Joyce and I dated most of high school. We were serious but not sexually serious. (I told you earlier I was scared to death of girls.) We would ride the bus together when we went to Choir competitions. There was a lot of hand holding, kissing (and fumbling around on my part) but it got us through high school.
Joyce got married while I was in the Navy. I don’t remember there being a breakup, per say, but I guess you could say we both found other interests. I was “seeing" a 16 year old girl I met in NY, and Joyce was getting to know her future husband. I guess we just both drifted on.
It was shortly after this that I met Mimi. I think if Joyce Giddens and I both had been single after I got out of the Navy, we would have gotten married, but who knows. I guess I was sad that she got married, but that opened the way for Joyce Maler and I to get married.
