Jimmy and Sherry Hill
The summer Kelly turned 7, we took the family to Disney World in Orlando. We drove in our van and made sandwiches to eat on the road. Six people eating out every meal was way out of our budget. We stayed at some cheap motel in Orlando and had adjoining rooms.
We would go to the park each day, see what we wanted, and ride the rides. I think we spent 1 day at each park. We bought a 4-day family package of tickets. I don’t remember what that cost, but it was budget busting. At night we went back to our motel and swam in the pool to cool off.
The second or third day we were going to Epcot. As we were standing in line for some ride, we were looking around to find out where we wanted to go next. Joyce saw Jason and his parents in another line. She said to Kelly, “Isn’t that Jason from your Class?”

Kelly looked, saw Jason and ran over and gave him a hug. We joined up with Jimmy, Sherry and Jason and have been friends ever since. They had lived in the Orlando area before Jason was born and had season passes to Disney World. They knew all the shortest wait times, and when all the shows were.
Jimmy was the one that told me about the paper route. He was always working two or three side jobs and asked if I was interested. I was, and we delivered the papers for about a year. It really helped financially.
Later after all the kids moved out, we took several vacations with Jimmy and Sherry. We really liked cruises. It was all inclusive, and we got to see some of the Caribbean. They have been our lifelong friends.
Jimmy passed away in 2016 of heart problems, but we are still friends with Sherry and love her to death.
