Kim's surgery

We found out shortly after Kim was born that she had a condition called craniosynostosis (don’t hold that as correct spelling). 

Some of the soft spots in her head had never developed and she had to have a couple of surgeries to create those soft spots. 

Without the soft spots, her head was growing front to back only, not symmetrical the way it was supposed to grow. Her forehead and the back of her head were growing, but the sides were not. 

She had the surgeries and had to wear a helmet for about a year. The Helmet had two purposes. First to shape the head (like braces on your teeth ), and secondly to protect the bones that had been moved around to form the needed soft spots.
